OMPS Launches Operation Bakal
Odiongan - Elements of Odiongan Municipal Police Station (OMPS) last night (October 2) went to the different nightspots/videoke bars located within area of responsibility and conducted operation "bakal" in a bid to prevent any untoward incident. Police Superintendent Nestor G. Quilinguen, Chief of Police (COP) said.
The operation was conducted as part of the crime prevention programs of OMPS. No one was arrested and no firearms and or deadly weapon were confiscated during the said operation. The COP added that this kind of police intervention is done to serve as a deterrent to any person who carries firearms or bladed weapon in public places without justifiable cause and or proper authority.
Further, this is to prevent violent incident that might result to injury or damage to property. The Chief of Police finally appeals to the public to help in this campaign by reporting to the police any suspicious and armed person who loiters in their vicinity for appropriate action.
